President Donald Trump is wasting no time in his quest to fill Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s Supreme Court seat. Backed up by his most loyal sycophant, Mitch McConnell, Trump has vowed to nominate a new justice very soon.
His shortlist of possible replacements for Ginsburg is quite short: Candace Owens and Sarah Huckabee Sanders. It’s not just a short list in terms of the number of names on it — it’s also a short list in terms of the qualifications of the people on it.
Neither of these pathetic right-wing women is qualified to shine Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s shoes, much less fill her seat on the Supreme Court. But Trumpflakes have been clamoring for a right-wing nut job to be appointed, and why not one of these two?
No, neither is a judge or an attorney. Neither has any integrity. Neither has any morals.
But who cares, when you’re a bootlicking cult member and the only requirement is fealty to your Orange Lord & Savior?
Trump has announced he’s going to nominate a woman, which is probably his attempt to appeal to, um, women. But you know what also appeals to women? Having autonomy over our own bodies, having health care coverage, having the ability to breathe clean air and drink clean water.
But none of that stuff matters to Trump and his cultist base. They want control over women’s bodies, they want people who can’t afford health insurance to suck it up and take an aspirin as they die of cancer, and they’d rather sell out our country’s natural resources to the highest bidder than protect our environment.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a titan, a trailblazer, and an amazing force for equal rights for women. Her loss is immeasurable, and no one — no one — selected by Trump will be fit to fill her seat. Trump’s politicizing of the court will last for a generation or more.
Vote blue. It’s our only hope.
