In an amazing show of support from the American people, Trump 2024, the official campaign to elect Donald J Trump the 46th President of the United States, broke every record imaginable. Within 30 hours, finance manager Joe Barron announced that they had raised an unprecedented $907 million, more than twice the previous single-day total.
Other records included the number of phone calls received by a campaign, which stopped being a thing people counted, for the most part, until an entire generation of people who can’t help but call in person did their thing old school like a Jerry Lewis telethon and pledged hundreds of millions in money they say their “useless millennial grandkids” don’t deserve.
Two more records of note: First, never before have more privately-thrown rallies been scheduled in a single day. Truck and boat parades are already on hundreds of dockets for town permits across the country, and the hotels around DC are fully booked for a few days in early January, 2025.
All-in-all it looks like Trumpism is back, and since nobody has told us otherwise yet, he’s still who we believe in most. Ron DeSantis hasn’t weighed in yet on whether he’ll oppose, and we already hate Mike Pence.
