Yes, it’s time once again for more adventures in television talk show land, with The View, ABC’S liberal yakfest.  Still powering on after a decade on the air, The View has been declining in the ratings as of late, mostly due to the incoherent and ridiculous ramblings of host Whoopi Goldberg.

Host company ABC has a solution for that, although it may not be the problem solver they think it is.  It’s name is Rachel Maddow.

Maddow is the host of an enormously successful program on cable news network MSNBC, one that boasts much higher ratings than Goldberg’s loserfest.  She will be replacing sometime host Sandra Batt this March, and will be seated directly next to Whoopi to act as a deterrent.

Showrunner Luis Colon told us that Maddow has been given explicit instructions to calm her co-host down before her comments become inflammatory.

“We’ve told her to be completely logical and calm, but to smooth over Whoopie’s weird asides and rants by offering facts and figures.  She’s very good at that.  She’ll also be able to offer a gay perspective to the show, which will be interesting.”

The View will continue on in it’s original timeslot with Maddow for the foreseeable future.  Will you be watching?
