The View is currently on a timeout on Twitter after Elon Musk suspended the account for “false information.” According to an official release, “The View continues to violate the rules on false information by not removing tweets calling Kyle Rittenhouse a murderer and Nicholas Sandmann a nuisance to society for wearing a red hat.” Under Musk’s latest guidelines, attacking someone’s character on the platform is strictly prohibited.
The View had multiple chances to remove the tweets but explicitly refused when asked directly in an email. “ABC and its shareholders are delighted with the show’s performance and quite frankly, what Elion Musk thinks isn’t our problem. You’re welcome to suspend our Twitter account all you like.”
Their first mistake was bringing up the shareholders, who will now likely have to contend with lawsuits from the wealthiest man in the world. Their second mistake was taunting him to remove the account, which he has clearly done. Since the ban, the show’s ratings have dropped 11% and ABC has lost $41 million in ad revenue.
At some point, people will have to understand that if you buck the system and oppose the slogans and current talking points of conservative America, someone will likely punish you with a satirical lawsuit. It’s just the way things seem to go these days. Ask Kathy Griffin, Alyssa Milano, LeBron James, Whoopi Goldberg, and about a dozen other leftists who all lost everything in the hearts and minds of potatoes.
