The oldest son of our President, Donald Trump Jr, is a wise man, almost as wise as his father. His interviews and tweets of his observations of American life are intelligent and spot-on. He is definitely his father’s son.
Today, in an interview with CNN, Don Jr made yet another poignant observation. The discussion had moved to the ridiculousness that is taking place across this country in the form of the removal of monuments and images even remotely associated with slavery or racism.
“I can’t stand the stupidity of all these liberals. They want to get rid of anything that they, and only they, feel is tied to slavery, and yet they vote for the Democrats.
If you know your history, you’d know that it was the Democrats that fought to keep slaves. Lincoln and the Republicans led the fight for emancipation. Democrats are the party of racism.”
Host Joe Barron rebutted by suggesting some ridiculous nonsense about it being conservatism that sought to keep the slaves and liberals who were against it. Trump did not hesitate with his reply.
“Haha. That’s funny, Joe. Republicans are conservatives. Everybody knows that freeing the slaves is exactly in line with conservative values, just like civil rights, the Boston Tea Party protest, and even the fight to become free of the British Empire. I’d suggest that you learn what these things mean before shooting your mouth off.“
Exactly right, Don. Uneducated liberals love to spread fairy tales of parties “switching sides,” but a look at our political history at any point in time shows that this is clearly wrong, even though it’s true.
