You heard it here first, patriots. A loaf of bread in California has officially broken the ten-dollar mark and landed at a new record…eleven dollars.

The news came out as a picture of some guy at a truck stop holding a loaf of Aldi wheat. The caption said, “$12 for a loaf of bread in California” and thanked the minimum wage increase.

At that point, the information was on the internet and therefore true. We felt it was our duty as journalisticators to get the story out.

Unfortunately, the first run at a meme had the price erroneously stated at $10.99. Since we liked the sound of $11 more than $12, we went with it.

So how does that come out in the wash? It’s simple. You just state the facts as you’ve invented them: Bread is super expensive. Like…way more than a pack of smokes. Obviously, that’s because fast food workers employed by national chains that pay their executives what the employees earn had to stop doing as much of that.

No, that doesn’t make a lot of sense, but you have to remember that these silly memes are aimed at low-information simps. The logistics of a thing never really come into play.
