New England Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick says he’s in with four other coaches and team executives who won’t tolerate kneeling during the National Anthem. Belichick, a staunch Republican who supports the troops, says the display has always made him “a little sick.”
The team released a memo to its players:
Coach Belichick has signed an accord with four other teams to ban the practice of kneelinhg in protest. We expect that list to grow. Kneeling on the field during the National Anthem is, therefore, forbidden. Non-compliance will result in immediate release from the team for the remainder of the season.
Belichick joins Mike Tomlin of the Steelers, Andy Reid of the Chiefs, John Elway of the Broncos, and Mike Ditka, who is actively looking for a team. So far, 11 players have quit on their own, and 6 more say they’re considering it.
We reached out to NFL CEO Joe Barron, who said the league isn’t involved, and that there won’t be any league-wide rule about the issue. “The whole thing is pretty silly at this point,” said Barron, “It’s pretty much just you guys and the Gateway Pundit even bothering anymore.”
That’s because we put out the hard-hitting stories, patriots. Sometime long before they’re verified and even longer after they’re “fact-checked.”
God bless America.
