The Barnstable County District Attorney’s Office confirmed Thursday that a superior court judge has signed an order authorizing the exhumation of Tafari Campbell, who served as the Obama family’s personal chef from 2013 until his death by drowning in July 2023. The warrant, sought by a consortium of “independent death investigators,” cites “unresolved inconsistencies” in the original autopsy, including the fact that Campbell was “an excellent swimmer” and that the Obamas were “in close proximity at the time of death.”

Campbell’s death was ruled accidental by the Massachusetts Chief Medical Examiner, who noted that even strong swimmers can experience medical emergencies or disorientation in open water. The petitioners, however, contend that the presence of a paddleboard, the time of day, and the “suspiciously convenient” location near the former President’s residence warrant “full forensic reconsideration.”

“The physics don’t align,” said Jeb Narroo, a commercial pool maintenance technician who once cleaned a hot tub near Martha’s Vineyard and now consults on “aquatic death mechanics.” “Excellent swimmers don’t drown. I’ve maintained hundreds of pools. Zero drownings. Because I maintain them. The water was calm. Too calm. Like a cover-up. I’ve seen calm water. In photos. Suspicious. The chlorine levels don’t lie, and neither do I.”

The “proximity evidence,” according to Benja Orro, a dental hygienist whose patient once delivered pizza to a Secret Service checkpoint, is particularly damning. “They were there,” Benja explained, adjusting his mask. “On the island. In the house. Maybe sleeping. Maybe not. You can’t prove they weren’t awake. I’ve seen people sleep. With eyes closed. Unconscious. Perfect alibis. The X-rays don’t lie, and neither do closed eyelids.”

Joe Barron, who once successfully floated in a lazy river in 2015 and now consults on “Presidential aquatic crime,” examined the warrant’s specifications. “Exhumation is standard,” Barron declared from his booth at a Red Lobster, far from any ocean. “You need the body. For evidence. Of paddleboard. Or Obama. The connection is clear. If you squint. At maps. From space. Which I’ve done. On my phone. During commercials.”

Barron has offered to assist in the autopsy, provided authorities allow him to wear his custom “Marine Forensics” snorkel and bring his emotional support ferret, which he claims can detect “Presidential proximity from the clam chowder.”

The Obama family called the exhumation request “painful, baseless, and cruel to a beloved friend’s memory,” prompting Barron to note that “grief is the first stage of cover-up,” calculate that the statement was released at 2:47 PM, and observe that “2 plus 4 plus 7 equals 13, which is the exact depth in feet where excellent swimmers apparently forget how to swim.”
