New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez has submitted legislation to Congress that would remove the words “In God We Trust” from all US currency.
The motto was first adopted by the US Mint for two-cent coins in 1864 and has gone on to appear on every US coin and bill. It is also the motto of the United States and the great state of Florida.
Why would AOC want to do something so abhorrently un-American?
Simply put, she, herself, is un-American and holds no patriotic values. From her hatred of our most beloved traditions to her blatant disregard for our Constitution, AOC and her band of radical feminists have infested the halls of Congress for the last two years in an attempt to push their socialist agenda.
Many Democrats have spoken highly of the legislation. Representative Ilhan Omar has said,
“This is an important piece of legislation for all Muslims in America. We can now spend our hard-earned cash with a clear conscience and approval in the eyes of Allah.”
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi tells us, “This bold idea is just what America needs right now. It sends a bold message that…wait…what was the question?”
Even foreign-born president Obama has given us his two cents on the subject.
“My motto was always ‘Hope and Change’. AOC’s legislation would literally change our change, having my words ring more true than ever.”
While democrats sing the praises of the damning legislation, Republicans across the land are up in arms, especially in Florida, the one state that shares the motto. The overnight cashier at the Jupiter, Florida Kum & Go Norbert Reynolds said, “I take this very personally. She’s disrespecting our country and my home state. If this passes, we can and will start printing our own coins.”
When asked what she would replace the motto with, AOC’s office released a list of suggestions. “Socialism For All”, “Catch Me Outside”, and “Yolo” were considered the favorites.
