On January 9, 2021, Twitter unscrupulously suspended President Trump’s Twitter account, effectively cutting him off from many of his supporters that followed him primarily through the platform.

It was liberal censorship at its most extreme. Now, feeling pressure from many civil rights groups and millions of free-thinking Americans, Twitter has reversed its course and welcome Donald Trump back onto its forum.

Because deactivated accounts can never be revived, Trump has chosen a new Twitter handle. You can now follow him under @DJTrump45 on Twitter.

While having to create a new account is usually a setback for most, Trump quickly amassed over a million followers within an hour of the account being activated. The fervor created by new account is palpable.

Trump wasted no time in getting out his first series of tweets.

“Guess who’s back, back again. Donny’s back, tell a friend. Guess who’s back, guess who’s back?  Guess who’s back, guess who’s back?  Guess who’s back, guess who’s back?  Guess who’s back?”

“In order to ensure the security and continuing stability, our Republic will be reorganized into the first American Empire, for a safe and secure society, which I assure you is gonna last for 10,000 years. An Empire that will continue to be ruled by a morally true congress and a sovereign ruler chosen for life, me. An Empire ruled by the majority, ruled by a new constitution.”

The overall timing of Trump’s readmittance to Twitter is a bit curious. It is surely more than a coincidence that it comes on the heels of Trump’s impeachment acquittal as if Twitter is taking more of an “if you can’t beat them, might as well join them” type of stance.

It is likely that other social media apps such as Facebook, Parler, and Grindr will follow suit and let the former president back in.
