“We understand that she was planning to stage a ‘Free Palestine’ disturbance in the crowd that would overshadow the somber ceremony on the 26th anniversary of the attacks,” the petition stated. “We ask that the court issue an order keeping her and her affiliates at least 1000 feet from the event.”

The petition, filed in Manhattan Federal Court by attorneys representing the “September 11th Memorial Committee for Uninterrupted Mourning,” alleges that Bushra Khalidi, a staff attorney at the Legal Aid Society and wife of Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, was planning to distribute “Free Palestine” pamphlets and lead a chant during the moment of silence at the 26th anniversary ceremony.

“We have intelligence,” said Dave, a delivery driver who once dropped off documents at a law office near Ground Zero and who has since become an expert in ceremonial security protocols through Facebook groups. “A source. The Mamdani transition team has called the petition “frivolous, Islamophobic, and completely detached from reality,” noting that Khalidi has never expressed any intention to disrupt the ceremony and that the “September 11th Memorial Committee for Uninterrupted Mourning” appears to be a recently incorporated LLC with no actual connection to the official memorial.

Barron dismissed this as “exactly what someone planning to disrupt a memorial would say,” and noted that the denial came at 9:11 AM, which he considers “either a coincidence or a signal to sleeper cells. Probably the second one.”
