Governor Newsom of California has always seemed to hate America. He says nasty things about our President and even allows wildfires to burn uncontrolled through his state by not raking the forest as Trump suggested.
Now he wants to take away more from America – this time by banning English.
In a filing to the California Senate, Newsom laid out his plan to convert all schools in the state to a “Spanish only” curriculum. This would make all classes, from math to literature, taught exclusively in Spanish.
They have also stated that English class would be taught in Spanish as well.
The filing goes on to say the following:
“As an increasingly global society, the need to learn other languages is increasingly vital to the well-being of our future leaders. These students already know English, so why continue to teach them English? It would make more sense to expose them to another language, making these students true global citizens prepared for the future.”
Newsom’s plan has been heavily criticized by state Republicans. Representatives Joe Barron laid out his case as to why he thinks this is a terrible idea for the state:
“Newsom keeps talking about global this and that. It’s clear that he’s a globalist and doesn’t have America’s best interests in mind. This is America and we speak American here.
Globalists do not represent America. Other countries have nothing to do with us and don’t affect us so why should we cater to them? If they want to talk to us, then they should learn English. Down with big globe! We can’t let the globalists win.”
Representative Barron is absolutely correct. We need to isolate ourselves from the world and not share in global prosperity.
The world has nothing to offer America.
