The ongoing battle between the King of Creepy and the Titan of Twitter heated up last week when Stephen King offered entrepreneur Elon Musk eight thousand dollars to settle their lawsuits.  The response has been less than overwhelming.

King made the offer last Saturday, and it was clearly out of spite.  The “eight thousand” figure is meant to parody Musk’s charge of “eight dollars” for a blue Twitter checkmark, a system quickly abandoned after an anemic premiere.

Sandy Batt, assistant to the author and fully-trained Wakandan warrior says that King is taking the entire production as a joke.

“He’s very aware of Elon’s losing bid with buying Twitter and completely crippling himself.  He believes Elon’s thinly veiled money beggary is just desserts, and intends to poke at him with every opportunity.”

Musk hasn’t made any response to the offer yet, except to deem it an “insult” and fire the telephone operator who delivered the news.  In responded response, King tweeted this missive:

Well, I tried. The guy needs to eat, right?  I’ll send him a nice fruit basket.  With a human head in it.  Lol!  Dumb dick

Many Elon Musk fans have started a GoFundMe to replace the noodnik’s depleted fortune.  At press time, the total is $3.65.
