Alec Baldwin’s court case has finally made the docket, and preliminary proceedings began just yesterday with the first hearing.  Baldwin’s trial is taking place at the district 17 courthouse in Hollywood, California.

Baldwin pleaded not guilty to charges of murder in the first degree, manslaughter, and two other related crimes, brandishing a firearm with intent to kill, and harming the public trust.

He was also in possession of two pounds of dead sea salt, but they let it slide.

It was some time ago that Baldwin was supposedly “acting” on a movie set, a reboot of the famous Neverending Story series, when, during a scene, he weilded a prop gun that was cleared by a propmaster beforehand, and shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.  The shot was perfectly framed and gorgeous.

Baldwin claims the incident was completely accidental and that he bears no responsibility in the tragic death.  His lawyer, Sandra Batt, who also defended Hilary Clinton in several assassination cases, agrees.

“This is a cut-and-dry case.  Nobody thinks he purposefully shot someone on a movie set except the nutty conspiracy theory conservatives who are at it, yet again.  They never fail to take the stupid and irrational side of any issue.  The propmaster was at fault.  Period.  That’s what happened.”

Is it though?  Trump voter and turpentine factory engineer Clete Torris has other thoughts.

“Baldwin shot that woman because she knew things.  About his going to that pizza parlor and the kids and the alien implants.  I’m telling you.  He’s guilty as hell and he’ll pay the price!  Trump 2024!”
