The current viral pandemic has brought public safety to the forefront like never before. Ordinary things that were considered safe, such as going to the store, eating in a restaurant, and voting, now have to be handled much differently in order to keep the public safe.
With a nationwide election looming, our leaders have had to make tough decisions on how to have safe elections — safe from fraud and safe for the people. This is why the DNC has awarded the contract for Mail-In ballot handling to Amazon.
The DNC says Amazon has a long history of prioritizing people over profits, and this is why they have decided to award them this contract, plus they have one-day shipping for Prime members, which is really good for mail-in ballots!
A spokesman for the DNC, Joe Barron, issued this statement to the media regarding the Amazon contract:
“We decided that mail-in ballots were the safest option for the American people. The alternative was President Trump’s plan to delay the election, but that is not possible, and it is unconstitutional.
We decided to award the mail-in ballot contract because Jeff Bezos has done many favors for us in the past and we owed him. They’re a good company with America’s best interest at heart. We are confident that our elections will be fair and secure with Amazon running the show.”
After this announcement, a representative from Amazon clarified that the mail-in ballots would only be for Prime members. Any non-members will be unable to participate in this year’s elections.
This sounds very fishy to us. In fact, it sounds like an unbelievable story that this could happen in America, but it is 2020, so it’s not even the strangest thing to happen this week.
